De 15e editie van de Latin Dance Night was een groot succes. Ruim 1800 bezoekers vonden afgelopen zaterdag moeiteloos hun weg naar De Oosterpoort in Groningen. Een gevarieerd programma en feestelijke sfeer zorgden voor een onvergetelijke avond waarbij de grijze wolken van november even ruimte maakten voor de zon.

Hoogtepunten
In de grote zaal stal oud gediende Eliades Ochoa van de Buena Vista Social Club de show. De vertolker van de traditionele son zette met zijn warme klanken de juiste toon neer voor de rest van de avond.
Nieuwe belofte La-33 uit Colombia bracht daarna een jonge en energieke show vol met opzwepende, gevarieerde en aanstekelijke salsa waarop hartstochtelijk gedanst werd.

In de kleine zaal zette Zulu 9.30 met een cross-over tussen Latijns-Amerikaanse klanken en mestiza een veelkleurige en swingende performance neer. Tegelijkertijd stak jong en oud de handen in de lucht tijdens het energieke optreden van het populaire K-Liber die duidelijk bewezen de koningen van de bubblin scène te zijn.

Uniek
Uniek dit jaar waren de silent workshops. Deelnemers konden via een koptelefoon muziek en aanwijzingen van de docent volgen. Dit nieuwe concept sloeg aan bij het publiek, alle workshops zaten in mum van tijd vol. De in stilte dansende menigte leverde mooie taferelen op.

Sfeer
Wie af wilde koelen, kon zich te goed doen aan een spectaculair bereide cocktail, Caribische schaafijs of zelfs een massage. Dit alles toverde De Oosterpoort zaterdag om tot een bruisend dorp waar tot in de vroege uren gedanst en geflaneerd werd. De gemoedelijke sfeer en de grote verscheidenheid aan zowel artiesten als publiek maakten de Latin Dance Night 2008 tot een magische avond.
